Abstract

Permasalahan kemiskinan energi yang multidimensi dan kompleks menimbulkan dampak negatif pada kelompok marginal terutama perempuan rural perdesaan.  Salah satu intervensi dalam upaya mengentaskan kemiskinan energi adalah pengembangan listrik perdesaan. Representasi yang keliru tentang perempuan menyebabkan intervensi dalam kemiskinan energi bukan memberikan dampak positif ke perempuan melainkan menambahkan beban dan opresi bagi perempuan. Naskah ini menelusuri permasalahan seputar nexus gender dan kemiskinan energi dalam listrik perdesaandengan cara membedah sejumlah penelitian terdahulu melalui tinjauan pustaka kritis atas nexus gender dan kemiskinan energi. Salah satu tujuan naskah ini adalah memberi masukan kepada pengambil kebijakan yang terlibat dalam pengembangan listrik perdesaan. Temuan utama  adalah pemiskinan energi terjadi akibat konstruksi sosial berideologi patriarki. Dominasi laki-laki, penggunaan asumsi bahwa perempuan adalah entitas homogen, dan relasi kuasa yang timpang, mempengaruhi keputusan-keputusan dalam proses upaya mengentaskan kemiskinan energi.
