Abstract

Mining is an important sector in the economies of many countries, but its operations often have significant environmental impacts, including large-scale landscape changes resulting from the opening of large mining pits. Therefore, an effective land-structuring strategy after mining operations is essential. This research focuses on the development and evaluation of land management strategies in open pit mines using ex-mine pit replenishment systems. This research involves literature study, design and modeling, simulation and evaluation, as well as field tests and data analysis. The results of this study show that landfill renacan in blocks 16-40 is backfilled from the pit using overburden material up to elevation 80, and is scheduled to be completed in December 2023, while in blocks 55-73 landfill is carried out with overburden material up to elevation 100 and is scheduled to be completed in August 2024 in line with the end of mining
