Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of science literacy in Biology learning activities, especially on environmental change, waste and recycling materials in improving students' ability to reason critically and creatively in accordance with the Pancasila student profile. The type of research used is classroom action research (PTK) using the Kemmis and Taggart models. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 02 Kabola with the subject of 17 grade X students. The results of the first cycle research through learning outcomes tests found that students' classical completeness was only 17.65%, while for aspects of behavior in learning, it was found for critical reasoning ability, an average value of 73.14%, creative reasoning ability of 71.06%, and science literacy ability of 72.35%. In the second cycle of the learning outcomes test, it was found that students' classical completeness had reached 64.71%, while for aspects of behavior in learning, the average score for critical reasoning ability was 84.80%, creative reasoning ability was 80.35%, and science literacy ability was 81.62%. It can be concluded that based on the implementation of cycle I to cycle II there was an increase in learning outcomes tests by 47.06%, critical reasoning skills by 11.14%, creative 9.29%, and science literacy skills by 9.27%. So it can be said that learning using science literacy can improve critical and creative reasoning skills in accordance with the profile of Pancasila students.
