FEMINISM VALUE IN NOVEL “PEREMPUAN BERKALUNG SORBAN” BASED ON CULTURE AND RELIGION POINT OF VIEW

Abstract

This research entitled ‘Feminism Value in novel “Perempuan Berkalung Sorban (Woman with turban)” written by Abidah El-Khalieqy’ attempt to uncover feminism value in this novel based on culture and religion point of view, especially in Islam. This study employs a qualitative research method to analyze the novel based on the question : How woman role in Islam and culture, what feminism value and the other value in novel “Perempuan Berkalung Sorban (Woman with turban).” The research is conducted by reading the novel thoroughly and carefully, the event that are related to feminism are choosen, these events will be then clasified and assesed in accordance with the issue of the study. The result of the analysis reveals that women are equal with men. They have equal right in many sector of life. Both in Islam or Culture very revere women’s disposition.
