Abstract

Organizational commitment is an important aspect that organizations should pay attention to. Employees with good organizational commitment will work hard to help the organization achieve its goals. The current work environment is dominated by Generation X and Y, each of which has unique characteristics that may influence organizational commitment, such as personal subjective well-being towards the organization. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of subjective well-being on organizational commitment among Generation X and Y employees. This research uses a quantitative approach with simple linear regression analysis to determine the extent of the influence provided by the subjective well-being variable on organizational commitment. The analytical technique used in this research is a simple linear regression test with the assistance of SPSS software. The results of the conducted research indicate that there is a significant influence between subjective well-being and organizational commitment among Generation X and Y employees. Subjective well-being has a significant positive influence on organizational commitment, where higher subjective well-being among Generation X and Y employees corresponds to higher organizational commitment, and vice versa, lower subjective well-being among Generation X and Y employees corresponds to lower organizational commitment.
